September is National Pain Awareness Month

I'm a mom, a wife, and a chronic pain sufferer. Yes, it's been 14 years of living with terrible 24 hour pain. It has taken many things away from me. Lost of job, energy, patience, and sometimes, my humor. I almost lost my life, when I attempted suicide in April 2010.

My chronic pain has brought me many new experience, as well. I was able to work from home for many years. We were able to home school our son from 7th grade to graduation. He thrived in that environment! And speaks of it fondly!

As I've gotten older, my chronic pain has evolved. I've been to the hospital 3 times this year, so far. Oh, and admitted to the hospital for erratic blood pressure and possible stroke. I've suffered from numerous skin infections that took months, several doctor's visits, and assortment of medications to clear up.

When I had to stop working in 2010, I felt like I no longer had an answer to, "What do you do for a living"? It was time for me to create a new path for myself. Actually it was the nature course of things that lead me towards the benefits of Twitter and HuffPost Live.

So, let's not forget that life brings us moments that require for us to adapt. It just does.

Please don't close yourself off to accepting new experiences into your life. Hopefully, through this journey, we call Life, you will find joy.

Love With Food Subscription Box Has Arrived ! September 2014

Love with Food recently sent me an offer for a free box, in hopes that I will return. I have to admit that we do miss it. Their snacks are fun, hip and unique.

Oh, before I forget, Love with Food donates a free meal for every box they sell. (I really like that) You can purchase a monthly box for only $10! That's a plus too!

Once I opened the box, Marcus asked to make some selections. After a quick review, he asked if he could take the whole box, to share with his girlfriend! Next month, I need to hide the box!

Attention Fellow Sleepy Heads! Orlando Jones Will Be On HuffPostLive Today!

Sleepy Hollow is our show! My husband will make some popcorn, we turn off the lights, grab a light blanket, and some beverages and get ready for a good scare!

On the day that the show is aired, I don't look at Twitter after 5PM PST because I don't want to see any spoilers. I rather be pleasantly surprised..and scared!

See How Our Tomato Plant Is Growing! Sept 2014

My husband and I were frustrated when our tomato plant didn't bloom this summer. So I reached out, to a fellow Twitter buddy, who has an amazing green thump.

She informed that the tomato plant needs to be 'spanked' and referred us to YouTube. The following morning, we type spanking tomato plants. The results pulled up loads of tutorials. After 1 week, this is the results.

Thursday Thoughts ~ September 18, 2014

Sounds like Verizon is launching an Internet based cable service which will give you the choice. Yes! That's correct. You'll be able to pick the channels that you want to watch and pay for.

Kantaki Washington joined Alyona, HuffPost Live, to describe how she was treated by the staff of a swanky hotel when they assumed she was a prostitute. Oh my goodness!

Now I would like to say that doesn't happen but it did happen to me 30 years ago! I guess people still can't believe that black women can be in a luxury hotel unless they're prostitutes.

The Marriott has been asking that guests offer the maids better tips - a request that hasn't gone over well.

We tipped the maid on our last vacation. It's something that we do. Footnote: I would like the option to add my tip to my hotel bill. It would save me a trip to the ATM.

Grover and Abby Cadabby joined HuffPost Live to offer some recommendations for fantastic reading material. Take a listen for some great suggestions! Footnote: It was so awesome to see them on HuffPost Live this morning!

My Staples Gift Prize Has Arrived !

We had a hectic morning, hubby realized he left his backpack in a co-worker's car. Marcus had locked his keys in the car. Yikes!!

Then we heard a knock at the door, it was FedEX! What a nice detraction from craziness!

PS Marcus got his keys out. Hubby tracked down his backpack! It's all good in the BerryMorin household!

Thank you XtremeQpon for my Staples gift pack.

Monday Lunch: Southwestern Style Beef Stuffed Peppers

This recipe and ingredients was purchased from Blue Apron.

Changes: My husband and I prepared this meal together. He did the prep and chopping while I did the cooking. After filling 2 red bell peppers, we had enough filling for at least 5-6 more! That was okay because I just put it aside for leftovers.

This was a great dish. And we'll definitely be making it again..with extra bell peppers!

Organizing Junkie

This week, we'll be walking in the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America, to promote awareness for Chiari Malformation. If you're interesting in participating in a walk, near you or would like to make an online donation, stop by the website.

Hubby is taking me out to dinner this weekend so I'm going to treat myself to a professional make up application. I really enjoyed having my make up done for the 40 Plus Divas fashion show, in August. This time, it will be truly a treat because I'm redeeming a Spafinder gift certificate that I won!

Saturday Dinner: Southern Shrimp and Cheese Grits With Zucchini, Corn and Tomatoes

This recipe and ingredients were purchased from Blue Apron.~delish!

Just one substitution: I substituted 1 cup of water for milk and I continued to add some milk, as I was cooking the grits. This is something that I learned last year. It truly does give the grits a more creamier texture.

A Complete Waste of Makeup

1. Favorite Scent: Buttercream Frosting! Yum!

2. Favorite Food: I love salad! Especially a good Chicken Caesar Salad from Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market.

3. Favorite Sound: I love the sound of my husband's laughter. It truly lightens up my heart.

4. Favorite Picture currently on your phone: That would be any photo of my husband!

5. Best memory of the year so far: That would my husband and I's honeymoon. After 18 years, we treated ourselves to a wonderful 4-day weekend at Aliante Casino and Hotel, in Las Vegas.

We enjoyed meals at Market and Farm. We relaxed, at the poolside, enjoying the sunshine and a cocktail. I even enjoyed a spa mani-pedi at RELAX, Aliante Hotel's day spa.

We had such a wonderful time. Talking about it always brings good memories and smiles.
