Volupties Underwear Subscription: July 2014

Volupties offers an underwear subscription service for curvy ladies, for just $12, your first month! (It’s $17/month after that) When you join, you provide your underwear size and each month you will receive 3 pairs of quality sexy underwear from well-known brands via snail mail!

Here's how my Volupties package arrived in the mail today. The small plastic bag actually fit perfectly in our mailbox. A plus for me because I didn't have to stop by the apartment manager's office to pick it up.

ps They're delivering to Canada too!

I really love these beautiful, sexy selections! Woo hoo!!

Tuesday Dinner: Lamb, Mint, Pea Orecchiette

The ingredients and recipe were purchased from Blue Apron. It was was quick to prepare but my husband isn't a fan of lamb. So, I made him some pasta without the lamb.

I wouldn't make this again, with the lamb. I found it much better without it!

Totally Loving This Nail Polish Color! Essie Marshmallow

I love this summer's hot colors but it's also nice to go with something different. Essie Marshmallow is a great nail polish color for summer.

I liked it so much, I bought a bottle!

Hallie Bibeau spotted a mother duck and her ducklings crossing the road while she was driving and because she’s not a monster she stopped her car to let them cross..and then saw something tragic. The mother duck was hit and killed. While she was helping the remaining ducklings crossed the street, she received a ticket for improper parking.

Michael Rapaport, actor-director, shared his views on celebrities using Kickstarter. "Me, personally, I wouldn't use it." "Kickstarter is for undiscovered talent, first-time people".

I've never contributed to a celebrity movie project fundraising before. But I have contributed to newbies. They don't have the clout and funds so I'm happy to make a contribution!

HuffPostLive: Time To End The 'Bumbling Husband' Stereotype

HuffPostLive synopsis: American TV often makes men look like incompetent fools when it comes to childcare or household chores. But blogger Jaime Zucker says this stereotype helps no one. She tells us why we need to retire the "bumbling husband.

I don't think the Americans have this "bumbling husband /father thing locked up but I guess we have a serious enough problem that Jamie Zucker, blogger, decided to write about it!

In her blog post, at Huffington Post, she states that these images hurting feminists.

Here's an excerpt from her blog post: Feminism is a movement which strives for equality between women and men. Advertisements for housekeeping products can still be targeted to attract female consumers, but the justification that these products should be selected by the woman because her male partner is just too stupid to do so needs to be retired. It's time advertisers pay attention -- equality is empowering. Show us all some respect.

Well, I've always know that my husband is no "bumbling husband". He still does the best job cleaning the fridge, vacuuming, and calming down rowdy kids! There are many men taking great care of the home and kids. Times have changed!

So, do you think it's time that media retire the 'bumbling husband/father" ?

Menu Plan Monday ~ July 21, 2014

Over the weekend, my husband baked peanut butter cookies, from scratch. My contribution was placing them on the cooling rack and then into the cookie jar! I love it when we work together!

Today, I was listening to Fresh Air on NPR. Terri Gross, host of Fresh Air, interview Chris Tomlinson, author of 'Tomlinson Hill' and Lavar Tomlinson, a descendant of a Tomlinson Hill slave.

First of all, I've been listening to Terri Gross for over 30 years. In my opinion, she is one of the most fascinating interviewers around.

Second, this was such a powerful and insightful interview that I listened to it twice!
