Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Starbucks announced Thursday that the chain will roll out wireless charging stations at its stores around the country, starting with stores in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Well, there's another reason to go to your nearest Starbucks and charge up! "Get it? Charge up"!

It seems luxury apartments are using metal spikes, installed outside of their buildings, as a deterrent to keep homeless from sleeping.

Isn't there another way to address the needs of the homeless? How about partnering with homeless shelters to address their needs?

President Barack Obama will issue an executive action that will make it easier for students to avoid trouble repaying student loans.

Will this program help people or will the 10% of your income guideline still be a burden? Time will tell.

I've been wearing eyeglasses since I was a teen and have always had issues when it comes to sunglasses.

After seeing the Jonathan Paul Fitovers sunglasses on QVC many times, I decided to purchase a pair! Boy, do I love these sunglasses. Not only are they stylish, comfortable but you don't have to take off your prescription eyeglasses to wear your sunglasses!

Health Magazine: Men Feel More Pain After Major Surgeries, Study Finds

TUESDAY, June 3, 2014 (HealthDay News) — Gender may play a part in how much pain a patient feels following surgery, new research suggests.

An Austrian study involving more than 10,000 people found that men experience more pain after major surgery, while women report feeling more pain following minor procedures, such as biopsies.

The influence of gender and sexes is a key issue of today’s research in medicine. However, current literature in the field of perioperative medicine rarely focuses on this question,” study co-author Dr. Andreas Sandner-Kiesling, of the department of anesthesiology & intensive care at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, said in a university news release.

Sunday Social

1. When do you take time out for you?

Daily frequent breaks are a most for this chronic pain sufferer. I like to lay down, listen to the quiet and sometimes, if I'm lucky I'll get a nap out of it!

. What do you find to be your biggest weakness?

I would say QVC! I can actually watch it for hours! David Venable is one of my favorite QVC hosts. Thank goodness, I'm not one to do much shopping or I would be in trouble

3. What is your biggest attribute?

I've been told that people love seeing my smile. Recently, while at Home Depot, an employee approached and shared that I had brighten up their day! I truly felt blessed that day.

4. What is your favorite place to shop online?

I love shopping on Etsy! I've been a loyal customer since 2007. Whenever I'm looking for unique items, for our home or gifts, it's my go-to place.

5. What is your favorite place to kill time?

I'm sure I'm not alone in this but Target is my favorite place to kill time. Sometimes,…
