Saturday Dinner: Turkey Chili

Last night, I decided to make the Blue Apron Turkey Chili recipe. That way, I wouldn't have to cook dinner on Saturday. Also, isn't chili so much better the next day?

Our Blue Apron Box included all of the ingredients that you need for your recipe.

This chili is loaded with wonderful flavor from fresh vegetables and spices. I'll just cook some brown rice to round out the meal.

My Target Haul ~October 2013

I stopped by Target, to pick up a full lenght mirror but....

There are more bags on the floor. Yikes. At least, I save an additional 5% with my Target Red Debit Card.

I discovered several items on clearance that I've been wanting. Also, I love autumn scents, so I went down the candle aisle and purchased a couple of room diffusers.

The media box was on clearance for $5. It's going in our son's bathroom. It will look great on the counter while holding his toiletres.

The creamer bottle was only $1. I'm going to put the dry coffee creamer in it and keep it on the counter. The coffee was on sale, 2 for $10.

Our dish drainer and mat really needed to be replaced. I love the look of the Threshold bronze color dish drain.

The sugar bowl was $1.50 and the nuts bowl was .88 cents. Both were on clearance.

Finally, I remembered the shower curtain liner on this visit to Target.

Volupties Subscription Box Has Arrived! October 2013

Volupties offers an underwear subscription service for curvy ladies, for $12 a month. When you join, you provide your underwear size and each month you will receive 3 pairs of quality sexy underwear from well-known brands!

Here's how my Volupties package arrived in the mail today. The small plastic bag actually fit perfectly in our mailbox. A plus for me because I didn't have to stop by the apartment manager's office to pick it up.

I love pink tissue paper. I'll be adding the tissue paper to my Valentine's Day stash.

This selection of sexy underwear, that I received, this month, will make a welcome addition to my underwear collection.

Friday's Letters ~ October 11, 2013

Friday's Letters

Dear Hubby, It's wonderful to be able to sit on the patio, enjoy a cup of morning coffee with my new chair. Thank you.

Dear Target, I really tried to leave the store with just one item but $134 later....

Dear Nails, I promise I'll get you taken care of ASAP. This is what happens when a girl gets gel nail polish, is sick for weeks and they get neglected. Yikes!

Dear Marcus, Could you please clean up after yourself or I will ban you from cooking. Like that's going to happen.

Dear Book, I promise I'm going to spend some time with you this week. No TV watching tonight.

Blue Apron Box ~ October 10, 2013

Blue Apron describes itself as a "new concept in grocery delivery, built around incredible cooking experiences. We offer a once-a-week subscription service where we deliver all the fresh ingredients you need to make three meals, in exactly the right proportions. We've designed our service to teach you fun new recipes, save prep time and also reduce unnecessary waste. By letting us shop for you, we can bring you fresher and higher-quality food than you can get on your own in the supermarket, and for better prices."

To subscribe, you create your account, choose the type of plan you want (meat and seafood or vegetarian) and the number of people you want to feed. (2,4,6) You can skip meal deliveries, change servings but you can't pick your 3 recipes. Oh, and they only send you enough ingredients for that the recipe calls for.(no waste)

The cost includes priority shipping. So, for $9.99 per person, per meal, you can have a fun time making a delicious and healthy meal. For this order, we selected 3 meals, 2 people, at $59.94

This Blue Apron box was delivered by OnTrac this afternoon. Great timing because I thought about making something delicious for lunch.

Blue Apron always includes these beautiful colorful wipeable recipe cards. When I finished using them, I just file them in a notebook for future use.

Salmon with Fennel Salad and Roasted Cauliflower~I made this for lunch today. Our son loved the Salmon and Fennel Salad. He wasn't crazy about the Roasted Cauliflower but I was. I'll have it for lunch tomorrow.

Ginger Beef Stir-Fry with Jasmine Rice~This dish is so full of flavor. And I'm now a fan of Tastoi. Now I'm on a search to purchase it locally.

Turkey Chili will delicious for this weekend. I think my husband and son will like this dish. And I love the addition of diced avocado.
Check out the vegetables and produce that was included in this week's Blue Apron Box. Everything smells so good and fresh.

Have you tried Blue Apron?

Home Depot: Window Shopping Fridges, Washers and Dryers

Hubby and I decided to take a walk through the appliance section at Home Depot this weekend. It's always fun to see the gorgeous refrigerators, washers and dryers and daydream.

Check out these refrigerators with all of the bells and whistles. WooHoo.

Look at these shiny, new washers and dryer. My husband says as long as the washer washes clothes and the dryer dries the clothes who cares about all the other features?
