Can You Remember the First Drink You Purchased ?

I actually ordered a beer at lunch when I turned legal age. At the time it was 19 in my state. (I'm really aging myself)

Marcus headed out to buy my husband a Foster's so I told him that he could treat himself too.

He bought himself a Smirnoff Ice. My husband actually stopped off and bought a 4 pack of Guiness Stout. Mom got a bottle of Barefoot Pinot Noir wine. I think I need to set up a bar.

5 Minutes for Mom Pin It Friday~ Home Office

I love that we have a home office in our current apartment! It was on our "must have" list when we were looking for an apartment, 2 years ago, because I worked at home. I decorated it with lots of family photos and whimsical pieces. And once I was done for the day I could walk out, close the door, and leave my work day behind closed doors!

Whether you have a separate room, closet or space you can create a pleasant work area that reflects your needs and personality. Here's some of my favorite pins courtesy of Pinterest!

Aurelio's Pizza: Sometimes I Just Want Something So Bad and Good !

There are times, not frequently, that I desire something that's not part of my healthy diet. Today, I decided I would treat Marcus and I to lunch at Aurelio's Pizza for an Italian Beef with hot peppers and carrots, Au Jus sauce and french fries!

Oh my gosh! This meal was just so good!

Big Lots Finds ~ March 2013

I haven't shared a Big Lots find in awhile. Today, Marcus called me about a terrific find of large size Axe Body Wash and Body Wash/Deodorant combos for $2 each! So I told him to just keep his haul to under $20.

He's has several months of supply here!

Let.It.Go Blog Hop Week Four: Melissa Taylor Online Bible Study

I decided to pick the following topic for Let.It.Go Week 4 at Melissa Taylor.
Serenity. Let.It.Go Chapter Eight. Sometimes no matter what we do to try and control a situation…we simply can’t. Can you look back at a time in your life when things were out of your control but you can see how God worked through it all?

It shouldn't surprise anyone that I decided to share my grieving and ultimately acceptance of my chronic pain. Chronic pain is an ugly and disabling illness that has brought much darkness ! It's not a cookie disease, there current is no cure! The side affects are numerous and have grown over time.

For years, my life was spiraling out of control with my anger, depression and opioid addiction! It wasn't till I found myself committed to mental institution, in a dark room, sitting on the edge of the bed I could finally hear His comforting Words! I kneeled, humbled and released my control.

Rare Illness Day: Have You Ever Heard of CPS?

Here's the description courtesy of WebMD. CPS or Central pain syndrome is a neurological condition caused by dysfunction that specifically affects the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord. The disorder occurs in people who have -- or who have experienced -- strokes, multiple sclerosis, limb amputations, brain injuries, or spinal cord injuries and may develop months or years after injury or damage to the CNS.

I watched the live segment and commented in the HuffPostLive community with other chronic pain sufferers, some who are suffering from CPS, during the segment. Many are currently taking opioid medications to lessen their constant pain, are no longer working and dealing with the stigma of having an invisible illness.

Dr. Forest Tennant, CPS and Pain Management Specialist, acknowledged that many doctors aren't aware of CPS and are mis-diagnosing it. (ex: Fibromyalgia) He also stated that it's important to discover the right "cocktail" that lessen your pain to where you can get out of bed and get moving! I'm all for that!

Thanks to HuffPostLive for bringing this rare chronic pain condition to the forefront!

Happy 21st Birthday Marcus!

I no longer have to hang around to show my ID and sign for the grocery order because there's wine or beer.

We can now sit at the bar when we got to Ruby Tuesday for a quick meal!

And Marcus can treat his dad to a "pay day" beer!

Happy Birthday Marcus!

Working From Home Sparks Debate: What Do You Think?

I worked at home from 2004 to 2011.  It was great option for me because of my chronic pain conditions.  If I hadn't had that option I wouldn't have been able to work.

I also discovered that I was more productive working at home. I was a chatty person who was easily distracted. Not a good personality for call center work when you have to be on the phone at scheduled times.

Do you think that other companies will follow the decision of Yahoo to have employees no longer work at home?

I'm the Fibro Warrior Of The Week at Fibro Daily!

I'm very honored that I was selected and interviewed by Jenn, Fibro Daily. She asked some thought provoking questions. There were a few questions that were difficult to answer.
I want to thank my husband for assisting me with his typing skills.  I hope that you'll feel free to share the link with other chronic pain sufferers.

Menu Plan Monday ~ Feburary 25, 2013

Our baby, Marcus is turning 21 years old this week! So I'll be making one of his favorite meals, meatball subs and fries. And I'll also be making his cake and frosting, from scratch.

He's also wrapping up his 1st semester at college! Marcus has been doing a great job at organizing his time. This morning, he was already up and out before I got up this morning.

My husband and I are very proud of him. Happy Birthday Little One!

Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday.

It's Time to Wash the Washing Machine!

This morning, I decided it's a good day to clean our washing machine! So armed with chlorine bleach and vinegar I got to work.

Here's the step by step instructions courtesy of One Good Thing By Jillee

Fill the washer with HOT water. Add 1 quart of chlorine bleach - no detergent – and let the machine agitate for a minute, then let it sit for one hour.

After one hour, allow the washer to run through its longest wash and spin cycle.

Immediately fill the washer with HOT water again and add 1 quart distilled white vinegar. Let agitate for a minute, and again, let it sit for one hour.

Using the bleach and vinegar will clean away bacteria, soap scum and mineral deposits from the wash basket and hoses. This is especially important if you live in a hard water area and should be done every three months! Every washer should be cleaned at least twice per year.

Will You Be Watching The Oscars Tonight?

I haven't actually sat in front of the TV and watched The Oscars in years! Once we had a computer in the house I would just look for the news updates.

Now that we have social media, Facebook and Twitter, people can share their thoughts, chat with celebrities or attend a "party" about the event. Yahoo usually has an interactive chat during the Red Carpet and award shows, hosted with celebrity reporters, stylist and hair stylist. At the Emmys there were several webcams views on the same page so no need to turn on your TVs.

Tonight, I will be attending 2 twitter Oscar parties. (#FandangoOscars #Fritolaynoms) There will be many Twitter parties tonight, with some offering giveaways. Wendy Williams and her crew will be hosting an Oscar twitter party too. (#WendyRedCarpet)

Well, I've got less than 2 hours before the Red Carpet starts! I need to get my typing fingers a rest!

Melissa Taylor Online Bible Study: Let.It.Go Week 4

I've been having some guilt about not keeping pace with the Let.It.Go bible study this week. So, I'm going to take set aside some off line time, just for the study and see how I do.

If you're participating in the Let.It.Go online bible study, how are you incorporating it in your busy day?
