Candy Resume Wrapper Gets The Job!

Now here's a person who by thinking outside the box, won the prize! A new job!

Las Vegas Shooting Makes The National News

A Las Vegas shooting made the national news yesterday. Kenneth Clutch, rapper, taxi cab driver and his passenger died yesterday. Las Vegas police say that an incident began in the valet area of the Aria hotel. There was an argument and two vehicles left.

As both vehicles drove down Las Vegas Boulevard, someone in a Range Rover started shooting at the Maserati driven by Clutch.

Clutch then sped through the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road and hit a taxi, which burst into flames, killing the taxi cab driver and his passenger!

 Several others were injured.

The question has been asked if The Strip is safe.  In my opinion, it is but people need to be aware of their surroundings when visiting.

Our town has high unemployment, drinking and drug problems and locals are experiencing increased crime so it's not a surprise that it's making it's way to The Strip.

Spring Has Arrived at Home Depot !

I realize many of us are experiencing cold temperatures, snow and ice but visiting our local Home Depot this weekend reminds me spring is right around the corner!

My husband and I had a terrific time, window shopping. Here's just some of our photos. Enjoy!

I Actually Wore Out My Sneakers! Finally!

I usually don't buy new sneakers because I've them worn out. It's because I've decided I want a new color or style.

But due to the amount of walking and exercising I've been doing last year, it was time! My feet were actually uncomfortable even before working out.

So my husband, who used to sell athletic shoes many moons ago, took me to Big 5 Sporting Goods. Big 5 has a variety of sneakers and terrific prices!

When I saw this pair of Fila sneakers, which were also on sale for $25, I was sold! After putting them on and taking a walk around the store my husband also gave them 2 thumbs up.

I have to say they're so light weight that I almost feel like I'm not wearing sneakers! Whoo Hoo!

Sharing Some of My Day With the Hubby: Winco and a View of Las Vegas

Charles and I decided to take our first trip, on Friday, to our local WinCo, grocery store. I had mentioned to him that I had read many positive blog posts about the store. And once WinCo opened 2 stores in the Las Vegas Valley area he wanted to check it out! My hubby also had a doctor's appointment so we rented a truck, grabbed some coffee to go and headed out to run errands and do some shopping!

We love the quality of the produce, as well as some great bargains.

At our location we found more produce and vegetable variety at Winco than at Walmart.

We also headed to Summerlin, a master planned community of Las Vegas, for my husband's doctor's appointment. While waiting, I decided to take these photos so you can see how beautiful the view was.

Here's another nice view of Las Vegas Valley!

Mindy McCready Commits Suicide

The black darkness of Major Depression really truly does hurt! For many sufferers, the only solution to relief of their pain, is to end their life.

I really hope that those who read this will continue to reach out for help. And know that they aren't alone in their daily battle with mental illness and chemical dependance. As a Major Depression sufferer and suicide survivor I know there is light in the darkness.

My heart felt sympathies go out to Mindy McCready's family and friends today. Over the weekend, Ms. McCready shot her dog and herself. This was her 3rd suicide attempt.
